Readers of all ages in St. Petersburg have something to look forward to as the Summer Reading Program makes its return to the community libraries. The program, titled "Adventure Begins at Your Library," is set to run from June 1 through August 4 this year.

Participants are encouraged to dive into captivating tales, explore far-off lands, and meet intriguing characters through the world of books. As stated, "The adventure begins here – at your library!"

For youth readers, the Summer Programming Guides offer a plethora of activities including free programming, take-home crafts, reading challenges, and the opportunity to win prizes. Young readers can also engage in Reading with the Rays to earn two tickets to a Tampa Bay Rays game and other exciting rewards.

Adults are not left out, as the Summer Programming Guide caters to them with information on lectures, discussions, and more, aiming to promote lifelong learning and engagement with literature.

Moreover, the City of St. Petersburg, in collaboration with Summer BreakSpot, will be providing free meals to children 18 years and younger at various locations throughout St. Pete during summer break. The free meals will be available on weekdays from June 3 through August 2.

The James Weldon Johnson Community Library will kick off the summer programming on June 1, offering participants the chance to pick up the Summer Programming Guide and engage in take-home activities. Those interested can also download the guide from splibraries.org.

In addition to the James Weldon Johnson Library, the South Community Library is among the locations providing free meals and participating in the summer programming. More information about the St. Petersburg Library System’s summer activities can be found on their website, splibraries.org.

This summer promises to be filled with excitement, learning, and endless possibilities for all readers and adventurers in St. Petersburg.
