The City of St. Petersburg is taking proactive steps to address the flooding and coastal resilience issues faced by its communities. In response to recent storms that have impacted the city's hardest-hit areas, a Resilience Community Listening Session will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The session, hosted by St. Petersburg Mayor Kenneth T. Welch and City Council member Brandi Gabbard, will provide an opportunity for residents in high flood risk areas to share their feedback and concerns. The goal is to gather input from the community in order to make these areas more resilient in the face of future challenges.

City staff and representatives from state and federal agencies will also be present at the session, highlighting the collaborative effort to address these issues. The Resilience Community Listening Session is open to the public, but seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register at stpete.org/Resilience to secure their spot.

To ensure that the Resident Feedback portion of the presentation is informative and comprehensive, attendees are also encouraged to provide input in advance during the registration process.

The session will take place at the Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Research and Education Building, specifically in the RM Bankers Auditorium. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Parking guidance has been provided for attendees. The Patient and Family Parking Garage, located on 5th Street across from the Research and Education Building, is recommended for general attendees. Members of the media are advised to park in the circle in front of the main hospital entrance.

This Community Resilience Listening Session is an important opportunity for St. Petersburg residents to have their voices heard and contribute to the development of solutions for flooding challenges. By working together, the city and its residents can build a more resilient community.
