St. Pete Standard

St. Petersburg, FL (November 17, 2023) - Due to the current drought conditions, the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has issued a modified Phase I Water Shortage Order that includes the City of St. Petersburg. The order goes into effect on December 1, 2023.

This Order comes after significantly below-normal rainfall, reduced river levels, and increasing water supply concerns. To help conserve water, the City is shifting to a temporary watering restriction of once a week. This restriction applies to properties watering with potable (City) water, water from private wells, or private connections to surface water sources (lakes, ponds, etc.). Additionally, residents should adjust their irrigation timer to ensure the settings are correct, as Restriction Enforcement Activities will continue to be enhanced.

The schedule of watering will be in relation to the property address as follows:

	Monday	Tuesday	Wednesday	Thursday	Friday	Saturday	Sunday
Potable (City) Water						Even	Odd
Private Well or Surface Water						Even	Odd
Reclaimed Water (voluntary)		Even	Odd	Even	Odd	Even	Odd

Residents who do not receive their water from the City should verify their watering days and restrictions with their water supplier.

This Order goes into effect on December 1 and is expected to stand until July 1, 2024. Please ensure all water systems are properly set up, and prepare for an adjusted watering schedule.
