Eckerd University issued the following announcement on Mar. 18.
Students and alumni teamed up with the Eckerd College Community Farm to plant 500 seedlings including a variety of native and non-native fruit-bearing trees in addition to bald cypress.
“To plant fruit trees that some people have never seen, and then to leave something for future students … it’s great to be able to keep that cycle going,” said junior Zoe Sabadish. Arbor Day Foundation
